BUD CARGO CITY
LOGISTIC HALL AND OFFICE BUILDING

Featured, Commercial/Industrial

BUD Cargo City is the newest air cargo logistics center in Budapest. The facility is considered also in professional terms internationally as one of the most modern logistics base, and helped Budapest to become a leader in the region’s air cargo. The development strengthens efficient cooperation between forwarding companies, and supports economic and business development of Hungarian companies interested in air cargo.

The cargo building is the essence of industrial architecture. Due to its function, it provides place for complex industrial, logistical and commercial developments, by operating and sustaining a safety inspection system, which is necessary for the operation of the customs borders between the states. The building has to connect actively to the aerial and to continental traffic routes because of the nature of its function, logistics. Its location enables to be in direct connection with the highway network, which provides ideal circumstances to conduct export and import.

The formulation of the building developed beyond these aspects of functionality, keeping in mind smooth transport of the international goods. The structure of the building, the interior circulation system, the fire safety technology and the modern storage technology all reflect this. The rational formulation of the shape, the economical use of surfaces and materials also serve this purpose.
